Collecting Vintage Advertising Postcards
Most collectors of advertising postcards are interested in either the product being sold, the artist who created the card, or the type of art on the card (art deco, art nouveau, etc.).
The topics available to advertising postcards are almost unlimited and include automobiles, soft drinks, farm machinery, tobacco, restaurants, night clubs, real estate, etc.
Many well known artists did advertising cards, but they did not always sign the work they did for advertising, making them difficult to recognize.
Art Deco designs on advertising cards are of interest to many collectors. Good examples can be found on early linen era postcards.
